the App
This Project is designed to run as an App (a mobile application). The idea is that by the opening of the London 2012 Olympics, someone will be able to sit in the new stadium and engage with the Project in two ways:
- reading: read the ‘dialectical images’
- writing: take their own photo and add it to the project
About the App
In order to do this I will develop a mobile phone application that can be downloaded. The App will:
- pull in ‘London 2012′ images from across the Live Web
- allow the reader to filter those images according to keywords as well as location they were taken. The App will identify where the reader is and stream images taken within that location.
- pull in the analysis of those fragments from this space
- pull in the ‘chapters’ from this space
- allow the reader to take their own image, geotag it, upload to their own social media space and find it added to the stream.
Timeline for development
- First mash-up of ‘2012′ image feeds on Yahoo Pipes.
- Create Flash front end for display of mashup on website.
- [Release of Flash CS5 allowing creation of iPhone and mobile Apps using Flash]
- Development of basic mobile App pulling in RSS feeds and searches
- Add search filter capability
- Add geo-search capability
- Add camera integration
- Add potential for users to manipulate, arrange and save images.
